Chris Browne – Managing Director of Thomson Airways
Chris joined First Choice in 1999 to establish Travel Choice Direct, before becoming Managing Director of Retail & Direct – Travel Choice and then MD of First Choice Airways where she led the investment programme into TUI Travel’s long haul offering by signing a deal to be the UK’s fist customer for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. She also oversaw the merger of ThomsonFly and First Choice Airways in September 2007 when she began her current role as MD of Thomson Airways, the UK’s third largest airline, with 60 plus aircraft in the fleet, flying from 22 UK airports to more than 80 worldwide destinations.
During her time at Thomson Airways, Chris has developed the airline’s customer service strategy and significantly increased customer satisfaction ratings, putting it at the top of the charter sector punctuality league tables for the second year running.
Chris has worked in travel for over 25 years, starting her career at Iberia Airlines where she became the youngest and first woman to hold a Director’s position outside of Spain. Before joining TUI Travel, she was MD of Carlson Worldchoice, formerly AT Mays.
Chris graduated from Queens University, Belfast, with a degree in Modern Languages then took a Travel and Tourism Post Graduate course at Strathclyde University, Glasgow.
Outside of work, Chris enjoys sailing and shopping for shoes!
