TUI UK & Ireland launch new initiative to attract school leavers into permanent employment

With unemployment rates among Britain’s young adults soaring, and the cost of going to university a worrying prospect, holiday giants Thomson and First Choice offer a tempting solution.

This year, TUI UK & Ireland, the UK’s largest tour operator, is introducing a new apprenticeship scheme, aimed at school leavers, aged 18 or over, at its head office in Luton.  The apprenticeship offers a structured two year programme within the commercial division, offering talented individuals on the job training in travel and leisure trading, product planning and purchasing. Holidays are still hitting the mark with consumers

The latest Experian Hitwise Hot Shops List proves holidays are still high on consumers list of priorities, with the five fastest movers being travel brands. Thomson claimed the highest ranking spot for a travel brand on the list (12), beating all airlines and online only travel companies, and sister brand First Choice the fastest mover across all sectors, climbing 37 places.
