Thomson Airways cabin crew shine at ‘In-flight Sales Person of the Year’ (ISPY) event

A team of three Thomson Airways cabin crew attended the ISPY event which was held in Brighton last week.

The week long event culminated in a star studded gala dinner last Friday evening, where Thomson Airways brought home a number of gongs including a gold award for effective use of product knowledge. This is the third year running that Thomson Airways has been given this award and this year it was won by cabin crew member Katie Windsor.

The event was supported by suppliers and airlines from around the world and was a chance for representatives from a number of in-flight sales teams to share best practice, experience exceptional sales training and to take part in a number of workshops. Read more »

Jail breaking ‘Jailbirds’ fly to Turkey in cancer charity fundraiser

Thomson and First Choice supported two charity fundraisers in a ‘jailbreak’ where the aim of the challenge was to travel as far away from Sheffield as possible in 48 hours without spending any money.

Jen Hanley and Cat King who work at Sheffield based manufacturers Gripple and Loadhog, raised over £5000 for Weston Park Cancer Hospital by escaping from ‘jail’ and travelling as far as Dalaman, Turkey with the help of Thomson and First Choice who supplied flights and accommodation for their trip. Following new research, Thomson Airways launches first ever guide to in-flight wellbeing showing passengers how not to be their own worst enemies in the air

  • - 41% do not drink enough water onboard

  • - 70% of British holidaymakers do little or no exercise during long-haul flights

  • - 64% of passengers suffer from jet lag after not taking necessary precautions

Thomson Airways will today launch a new guide to help holidaymakers step off a long haul flight feeling fresh and fighting fit, instead of fed up and fatigued. The first of its kind Good Flight Guide is packed with advice from experts in their field, including fitness, health and beauty, and aims to show how simple changes to an in-flight routine can help ensure the holiday starts as soon as the plane takes off.

Thomson Airways achieves landmark environmental certification ISO 14001 Environment Management System awarded – pledging commitment of more to come –

The Thomson Airways engineering team has achieved external ISO 14001 certification for its Environmental Management System (EMS). Thomson Airways is the first airline in the UK to roll out this standard across its engineering operations. Read more »

World Water Day: Three years and billions of litres later – Thomson Airways funds Thirsty Planet

In just three years, Thomson Airways sales of Thirsty Planet bottled water have raised over £142,000 towards Pump Aid’s work.  In this time Pump Aid has built over 4,000 Elephant Pumps, bringing water supplies to at least an estimated 350,000 people in Sub-Saharan Africa. Read more »
